Dye Plant Walk: Arroyo Seco - Mar 6, 2022

Dye Plant Walk: Arroyo Seco - Mar 6, 2022
Sunday, March 6, 10am-12pm
I’m so excited to share my first Dye Plant Walk, where we’ll go into the wild together (here on Tongva land, by the Arroyo Seco) to learn about relating, identifying, and working with the dye plants around us.
We’ll view the plants and our craft through a lens of reciprocity, learning by both intuition and scientific guidance how and where to ethically and sustainably seek nature’s abundant color. I’ll share my knowledge about the dye potential of plants I’ve come to know, and will illuminate ways of exploring and identifying that potential on your own. I’ll offer my ethical guidelines around foraging and crafting from the wild – the “best” times to gather fallen dye materials (after a rain or wind storm), when certain plants are abundant (even better, over-abundant), invasives to work with first (there are so many!), and natives to grow ourselves at home.
This event is for anyone and everyone interested in plant dyes and earth relationship! Plan to walk a couple of miles on uneven terrain, rain or shine. Specific location and details will be sent to attendees via email on the week leading up to the walk, so please ensure your email address is correct when checking out.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
