Colors of the Arroyo (at Plant Material) – April 1, 2023

Colors of the Arroyo (at Plant Material) – April 1, 2023
Join me for a natural dye workshop exploring local ecology and plant dyes at Plant Material nursery at their beautiful, spacious, Arroyo-adjacent Altadena location.
We’ll start our day with a plant walk from Plant Material to the Arroyo Seco, where we’ll get acquainted with our local ecology and flora – including plants with natural dye properties, plant stories & folklore, science, and more.
Back at the nursery, we’ll work with natural dyes made from a variety of local plants, and you’ll get to make your own bucket hat dyed with the colors of the Arroyo!
Leave with inspiration, knowledge, and recipes for working with natural dyes at home – including growing and tending plants in your own garden that will lend their generous color (and beauty, and pollinator and ecosystem love) for many seasons to come.
Come gather, connect, and create with your local plant-loving community on Saturday, April 1, 10am-2pm. Specific location and details will be sent to attendees via email on the week leading up to the walk, so please ensure your email address is correct when checking out.
